The Different Types of Perfume Gifts

The first thing you have to do when considering a perfume gift, is to find out what kind of perfume they wear. You can ask during casual conversation, or do a little checking if you are able to. You may also want to include a body lotion, shower gel, soap or talc, so long as it is the same perfume.

When buying perfume gifts you should consider your friends preferences, as perfume is very personal and everyone’s taste is different. Careful thought should be put into this decision and then careful selection needs to be made, to make sure the perfume gift is desired and useful to the recipient. It is much better to research what they like first, and then start looking for that perfect perfume gift, for your special person.

Naturally you have to consider when looking at giving a perfume gift, if the person actually wears perfume. Many people have allergies and are sensitive to fragrances, so a perfume gift would not be a good choice. Other people may not wear fragrances routinely but may enjoy a gift that included perfumed sachets, body or hand lotion, room spray or scented candles. These types of gifts are lovely, and can alternatively be used in the home as decorative items or as fragrances.

If the person does like wearing perfume then the gift should be a scent that they will appreciate and be able to use. Men often make the mistake of choosing a scent they have smelled on another person at one time or another and thinking the special person in their life will like it too. This is not necessarily a smart decision. You should take the time to find out what types of scents they like to wear and choose either the same scent or one very similar. This will make the perfume gift a welcome item.

If you are not sure of the types of perfume gifts available, it can be a daunting experience when trying to decide which perfume to purchase. It is important to understand the various types of fragrances that can be chosen. True perfume is usually very costly, but is the most potent of all the scent strengths. The perfume bottles are small and very beautiful, designed to represent the personality of the fragrance and the designer. If you can afford the gift of true perfume, then this is the ultimate choice and will be extremely appreciated, especially if the person you are giving the perfume gift to loves perfumes.

For those who are on a tighter budget, do not despair, as all fragrances are not expensive. Less costly perfumes are available, for example, Eau de Toilettes. Eau de Toilettes are about eight to fifteen percent essential oil. Another is an Eau de Cologne, which is about four percent essential oil. These perfumes are not as concentrated as the true perfumes. You may have noticed that the more expensive ‘true’ perfume comes in a small bottle, whereas the Eau de Toilettes and Eau de Colognes come in larger bottles.

Many perfume companies even offer a perfume gift package. They are a lovely perfume gift to give, as they come with several small bottles of scent in various forms. These may be a basket of goodies, laden with small bottles of perfume, or a basket with a particular scent, containing a perfume, soap, talc, body lotion and perhaps a shower gel or bath salts. The possibilities in these perfume gift packages are endless. All these choices will make an excellent perfume gift.
