Starting a Glass Perfume Bottle Collection

If you love perfumes and are delighted by the shapes and designs of the small containers that they usually come in, it might be a good idea to start your very own glass perfume bottle collection. The dainty and sometimes intricate patterns make these glass bottles very attractive and quite interesting. Some might even be considered tiny pieces of art. Most perfumes these days are available in small bottles, which is why it won’t be that hard to grow your collection. They may even be acquired for free from some hotels that offer these perfumes, along with other items, as a souvenir to their guests.
Different Kinds of Glass Perfume Bottles
Glass perfume bottles have been around for a while and if you take a look at how they have changed over the years, you will realize just how diverse the different kinds of bottles are. When you go to a perfume store today, you will see all sorts of bottle shapes and sizes but most of these are likely to have a sprayer on top. By depressing the top of the sprayer, you can easily apply a fine mist of perfume onto your body. Bottles that do not come with a sprayer will have an applicator that also functions as the cover. Some older types of glass perfume bottles make use of a diffuser. These bottles come with a bulb which you have to squeeze in order to spray the perfume. It’s very rare to find such perfume bottles nowadays but if you manage to buy one, that would be a very nice addition to your collection.
The shapes and sizes of glass perfume bottles can vary widely as well. Some are tall and narrow while others are short and stout. Most of them are rectangular, round or square-shaped but if you are serious about your collection, you should try to look for bottles that have more unique forms. A lot of women’s perfumes come in irregular shapes with caps and stoppers that are very attractive as well. It is very common to find glass perfume bottle stoppers that are patterned after flower petals or butterfly wings. Most perfume bottles are made from clear glass but there are also some that have a tinge of color. When you have managed to collect quite a number of perfume bottles, it would be nice to display them on a glass shelf in your bedroom or bathroom. They will not only serve as a unique decoration to your room but will be a topic of conversation for your guests as well.
